If you're on the hunt for a secret lookout with views and privacy, Poor Boy's View is one of the best-hidden spots along backcountry trails. Just off the Whiteswan Lake FSR in the East Kootenay Region is a small off-road trail that winds its way to the pullout of Poor Boy's View. The side trail is large enough for a 4x4 or AWD vehicle as long as you're aware that the trail conditions are always changing based on rain and rockslides primarily. At the lookout, you'll see a platform someone had built into the side, and while quite scary to stand on, it does feel strong and sturdy, but of course approach at your own risk.
